New GMC TErrain 2009 2010 : Reviews and Specs

i like it, well, most of it anyways. The front end is alot more agressive than the 2010 Equinox and the overall exterior styling is much more “boxy” and looks a bit more rugged. Thats good expecially since they don’t want badge engineering to become too literal a term. I am a litte dissapointed with the interior because it looks a litte too similar to the Equinox. But if u look closely u can see a red patch job on the fabric, along with the red lighting, black and grey fabric on the dash making this a tru GMC interior. Overall, nice job GM, this is the kind of stuff they should have been doing years ago. This and the Equinox will be a huge success. GMC really needed this small ute to be added to their line-up and it is bold, agressive and perfect for the times. I really hope GM makes it out of this mess, i really want to see what else they have up their Two engines will be available for customers to choose from. A new, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with direct injection is expected to deliver highway fuel economy of 30 mpg. Peak fuel economy is achieved in part with an “ECO” mode that is activated via a console-mounted button. When engaged, it lowers the torque converter lockup speed to 1,125 rpm to help save fuel on models equipped with the motor.
Also available will be a 3.0-liter DOHC direct injected V-6 engine delivering an estimated 264 horsepower. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Terrain’s rack-mounted electric power steering system provides greater fuel efficiency on four-cylinder-equipped models, saving nearly 11 miles per tank of gas. also think they should increase the horsepower to the 300 range so we don’t give the competitors that much range of improvement. because they way i see it, they could just as easily meet us where we are and we will fall behind again. Or they could stick with the “our engines dont need more horsepower, we have reliability on our side” kinda crap. Get what i’m saying?
and 264hp out of a 3.0 liter engine is actually pretty amazing considering the bmw twin turbo 3.0 inline 6 produces 300 hp with 2 turbos. So it would be right around 260 +/- 15hp with out the turbos. the 3.6 in our aura makes 252hp, that thing shreds tires already and handles pretty good for what it is. Now, imagine the same car with the 3.0DI, with better weight distribution, better mpg’s, and more hp, it can only get better! they just have to ditch the old technology imo. stick with the new stuff and put everyone else to shame
