Borrowing design features from its RC212V MotoGP racer, Honda is betting its 2008 CBR1000RR will do to the Superbike class what its CBR600RR did to the Supersport field in 2007 - dominate.After seeing the 2008 Honda CBR1000RR in the flesh earlier this year, we could not wait to turn some laps on the revamped literbike. We were not disappointed.The 2008 CBR1000RR has a redesigned powerplant, but the new Honda superbike displays noticeable exterior changes, including all-new bodywork. Neil Hodgson is one man hoping Honda found the perfect solution with its new CBR1000RR, with the former BSB and SBK champ contesting the 2008 AMA Superbike series aboard the new CBR.Grip with the OEM Dunlop Qualifier rubber is good, but we needed something stickier to really push 2008 CBR1000 suspension.Honda's 2007 CBR1000RR (above) felt significantly larger than the all-new 2008 version when we turned some laps on the old model.A switch from stock rubber to Dunlop 211GP race tires allowed us to push the new CBR1000RR to the limits.The stoppers on the CBR1000RR are new for 2008, with lighter radial-mount Tokico monobloc four-piston calipers pinching down on lighter 320mm rotors.Will the new CBR be able to unseat the GSX-R dominance of the Superbike class?
