European manufactured Honda Civic Type R 2010 to be sold in Japan The car is powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 201PS at 8,000rpm. This enables the hot hatch to run from 0-62 mph in 6.6 seconds before hitting a top speed of 146 mph.
Compared to a standard Civic, the Type R features aggressive styling, a 20mm wider rear track, sportier damper and spring characteristics, a 15mm reduction in ride height, and an improved steering setup. Apart from the styling(or "Euro R" badge), this FN2 Type-R(cheap torsion beam rear suspension) is worse than Japan built FD2 Type-R(expensive Multi-link rear suspension). Too much unused production capacity in Swindon Factory? It sounds about as ironic as Ford importing the Fiesta in the US, or BMW the X5 in Germany, or VW the Fox from Brazil... and there are plenty more models that were originally meant for the market where they were produced. Typical Honda, not bad but if they really want to take market share away from the Subaru WRXs, Evos and like they need it to be RWD or All wheel drive. Power is nothing if you cannot put it to the ground. A great example of this is the FWD Dodge SRT4, wheel spin all the way through 2nd.
But, it will be a great car for people who like the RICE look. Personally, I will stick with my All Wheel Drive WRX pushing 320whp. Boost and all wheel drive is where it is at.
