Dodge Tradesman: to study the U.S. version of the Fiat Ducato?

After the name Cuda, Chrysler has also registered the name Tradesman. As reported by "Inside Line", the name will be used by Dodge Tradesman to identify the U.S. version of the Fiat Ducato, designed to replace the current home of Mercedes Sprinter in 2012. However, the Duchy could be marketed overseas with the brand new Ram, which will identify commercial vehicles and pick-up Group in Auburn Hills. The Dodge Tradesman van, however, was introduced in the U.S. market in 1971 and was produced until 2003 in three different generations.

Meanwhile, with regard to other synergies between Chrysler and Fiat, the U.S. site shows that, by 2013, many models under the brands Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep will adopt the sequential TCT 6-speed dual-clutch dry product from the Lingotto . Instead, "Automotive News" reports that the project had been frozen on the pick-up Jeep, or the production version of the Gladiator concept expected on the market by the end of 2011. The decision relates to the willingness on the part of Chrysler to develop the pick-up only with the Ram brand.
