The range topping LC5 boasts everything from the LC4 as well as an adaptive variable suspension (with active height control), a sunroof, and crawl control (aka hill decent control). Other goodies include a multi-terrain monitor (which uses front and side view cameras to show the areas surrounding the vehicle), a steering angle display, a multi-terrain selection system (with four modes), and a rear seat entertainment system. The SUV's new Multi-terrain Select system allows the driver to dial in the type of terrain for enhanced system self adjustment effectively giving more efficienct power delivery and traction. Extra driver assistance comes from four cameras that monitor the situation all around.
Additionally the new Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) adjusts the front and rear anti-roll bars for optimised on and off-road performance. The electronically controlled rear air suspension system has an auto-levelling function and switchable height control function. The wheels are either 17-inch or 18-inch and come rolled inside 245/70R17 or 265/60R18 tyres respectively.Quite depressing to see a oomph creation like Bugatti Galibier and oh Sh$! creation like Toyota Land Cruiser on the same page of WCF.
Providing the necessary motivation is a 3.0-litre D-4D turbo common rail diesel engine with a 5-speed automatic transmission. It produces 128kW (171bhp) at 3,400rpm and maximum torque of 410Nm between 1,600 and 2,800rpm. Average fuel consumption is 34.9mpg and C02 emissions are 214 g/km. It takes 11.7 seconds to reach 62mph and it can achieve a top speed of 109mph (175km/h).

The UK market will offer the Land Cruiser exclusively as a 5-door model with seven seats while other European countries also get a 3-door model and a 4.0-litre V6 Dual VVT-i petrol engine.
Inside the features list is as long as the car's 2.79m wheelbase. The left and right hand seats for instance, can be raised and lowered independently, using the Toyota Easy Flat system. Other features included are USB ports, a 14-speaker JBL Synthesis Premium Surround Sound System, a Hard Disc Drive (HDD) navigation system and a multi-information switch on the steering.
The new Land Cruiser goes on sale in the UK on the 1st of December 2009.
It's a real 4x4 and it has every thing you need (even some things you don't really need) but why does it have to be SO ugly!??? There's a total lack of inspiration in this design. I'd still love to have one of these though... this model and would still do so - even that the styling indeed is at least "weird" - if not the diesel engine... I hoped for a power increase compared to the current version, but nothing like this... Such a disappointment!
