Mugen had some interesting show pieces at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon, one of them being the Mugen Civic Type-RR, Experimental Spec. Under the hood lies a modified 2.2L K20A engine that is bored out to 2157 cc, which results in a higher powerband and even higher redline. The result of that modification? 260 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque. Driving the motor is a 6-speed transmission and as a bonus, Mugen has added a Intelligent Tire Condition Monitoring (I-TCMS) system that keeps an eye out for the tire pressure and temperature. As you can see from the pictures, the Type-RR sports a carbon fiber front end, which helps with the aggressive stance and some weight reduction. As far as the interior goes, nothing beats the carbon fiber enhanced trim and beautiful red and black contrast, which you'll find more of in the gallery section after the jump.
