Featured upgrades to the SP are the addition of a slipper clutch and quick shifter as standard features, as well as an Ohlins TTX rear shock. The 2011 Ducati 1198 SP has race derived pistons that are designed to decrease friction while increasing their strength. These upgrades enhance a package that already includes the Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Data Analyzer (DDA) systems. Replacing the 1198 S, the 2011 Ducati 1198 SP includes upgrades such as a slipper clutch and a quick shifter. But the biggest news with the 1198 SP is its cost – retailing for only $200 more than the 2010 S model it replaces. The TTX shock alone costs around $1400.
