Prius's brakes seem fine, and even if they weren't I know Toyota would take care of them. Funny thing is that the Ford Fusion has had the same concerns about their brakes, but for some reason the press doesn't go after them. I think this is just another example of the American media looking to bring down the top dogUpon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 1.8-liter, I4, 134-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 51-mpg in the city and 48-mpg on the highway. The 2010 Prius is redesigned for 2010. I find that the braking issue is definitely there. I had great issues stopping on ice esp. It feels as if you are not stopping and as if you are going forward on ice, if you hit bumps- esp with rear wheels, and it is quirky in that way.
The other side of the coin is that I had to break hard today in a parking lot when someone pulled out on me and the brakes worked very well. It is a glitch that can be fixed, and I think that the car is safe to drive. I do think that this issue needs to be addressed, and it is a wake up call to all drivers not to speed and not to tailgate one anothe
