New 2009 Chevy Malibu Hybrid HY : Review, Estimated Prices and Specification

Chevy needs more cars like the Malibu. I can not believe that it is a Chevrolet!! I congradulate GM on a very fine job with the Malibu; I should point out the the 009 version has imporved baterry to up milage more; So far in local area driving I am gettin around 32 MPG and on Highway one shoud be able to get 40 (no joke). You have a certain amount of control with the instant fuel consumtion monitorl. Start at 60 mph and see how your milage is, if you want to bump it to 70 see how that goes. The handling and brakes are excellent, and the styling is very nice too. The 2009 Malibu Hybrid is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, available in one trim only, the HY. Upon introduction, the Malibu Hybrid is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 164-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 26-mpg in the city and 34-mpg on the highway. 26 city/34 hwy is awesome for a car of this size and practicality. The interior is super comfortable and reflective of a car this much more expensive. GM has hit a homerun with this vehicleA 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. Gas mileage estimates for 2008 model vehicles reflect the Environmental Protection Agency's new, stricter testing methods. City MPG estimates have dropped by about 12 percent on average; highway MPG estimates by about 8 percent on average. City estimates for hybrids are about 20 to 30 percent lower; highway estimates 10 to 20 percent lower. Estimates may vary widely by model. The new testing accounts for factors previously missing or not fully considered, including high speed and rapid acceleration, air conditioner use, and cold-temperature operation. Standard Stability Control and ABS. Standard Onstar directions and connections with navigation. Great warranty. This is a great car for the money.

Pros:
the 2008 chevey malibu has the best fuel economy in is class. It all started as an experiment and it is catching a little notice because of the high fuel cost!Excellent look and comfort. Great Value! $4500 less than comparably equipped other hybrid car in this class. Smooth acceleration. Quiet quiet ride
Cons:
it makes any other 2008 mid size sedan worthless. The car is no horse power. This pretencious automobile is yet another 'yawn' attempt by Chevrolet to to give us the same old boring Chevy product. Why do all the Chevy vehicles look the same on the inside? It's very borish to drive, the ride is terrible, there is NO pickup in the engine, the only thing this car has going for it is the mileage....
